Review: This short and simply made clip presents students reasons why to cite in their papers. The main message is that it helps doing papers more quickly and effectively. Starting with the problem of information overload it introduces five reasons why:
1) Because your professor said so. Citing is a formal requirement for student papers at the university.
2) Citing correctly avoids plagiarism.
3) It's a matter of fairness. It gives credit to the authors.
4) It shows to the instructor that you did some original research for your paper. It makes transparent what are the arguments of other authors and what are your own ideas.
5) Using citations of other authors is helping you to find more sources. Therefore, other authors citations are your friends.
